On 9th of May 2017, representatives of the Lithuanian Clusters Association met with the Minister of Economy Mindaugas Sinkevičius. The Vice-Minister of Economy Ramūnas Burokas, Director of Innovation Department of the Ministry of Economy Dimitrijus Kucevičius, Director of Investment and Export Department Gina Jaugielavičienė, Director of European Union Support Coordination Rita Armonienė and the Head of Industry and Trade Department of Industry Policy Division Karolis Ruzgys also participated in the meeting.

Minutes of the meeting of the Lithuanian Clusters Association and the Vice-Minister of Economy R. Burokas on 13th of April 2017 and the provided list of tools were presented during the meeting, the most relevant issues of Lithuanian clusters were discussed and suggestions on their resolution were presented, views and ideas on clustering development prospects and possibilities in Lithuania were exchanged, examples of foreign cluster development and clustering promotion policies implemented by various countries were presented.

The Minister of Economy instructed the Vice-Minister R. Burokas with relevant Ministry departments and institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Economy, whose activity is related to development of clustering in Lithuania, to specify the list of preliminary tools, their implementation terms and responsible persons provided during the meeting minutes of the Lithuanian Clusters Association and the Vice-Minister of Economy R. Burokas of 13th of April 2017 and to sign this specified document during the Cluster Forum organized by the Lithuanian Clusters Association on 31st of May 2017.

The Minister of Economy expressed a request that the Program of Clustering Development should be prepared and presented for consideration on 3rd-4th quarters of this year.

Director of Innovation Department of the Ministry of Economy D. Kucevičius confirmed that Clustering Study Report performed by UAB Pricewaterhouse Coopers under the order of the Agency for Science, Innovations and Technology (MITA) is being revised and will be presented for representatives of clusters on 31st of May, during the mentioned Cluster Forum. Opportunities will be provided for the Lithuanian Clusters Association to evaluate this study and provide conclusions, notes as well as suggestions.

The Lithuanian Clusters Association invited the Minister, Vice-Minister of Economy, and other interested employees of the Ministry and representatives of its subordinate organizations to participate in the Cluster Forum organized by the Lithuanian Clusters Association on 31st of May. It was agreed that the welcome speech shall be given by the Minister of Economy (depending on possibilities) and the Vice-Minister R. Burokas, who mentors clusters.
